Like Mother, Like Daughter

"Uh... Starbloom, what are you doing...?"
"Y'know, just goofing off."

You can blame LisaWolf for this one. She gave me my next Batmare victim: her OC, Starbloom. Considering Starbloom's background, this idea was too good to ignore.

A quick rundown of Starbloom's background: she's Twilight Sparkle from an alternate timeline. A lab accident in her own timeline resulted in Spike's death, and she suffered an emotional breakdown that eventually caused her to lose her horn and cutie mark. Princess Luna offered her a chance to start her life over, turning her into a filly and sending her to another timeline. The filly took up the name Starbloom and was adopted by the Twilight Sparkle of her new timeline.

In place of her horn is a crystal embedded into a headband that is covered up by her mask. Starbloom can still perform magic (though now it's limited to telekinesis and levitation spells), and the headband allows her to focus her magic energy. Without it, she'll overexert herself and basically turn herself into a walking magic bomb as a result of the energy buildup. The crystal on Starbloom's headband surprisingly wasn't as difficult to create as I thought it would, though I feel that the colors are off a bit.
